I’ve lived in New Tecumseth for over 30 years. I’ve raised my children here. I’ve worked here. And I have volunteered here. It’s a great community and one of the best places to live in Canada.
That’s right – the Town of New Tecumseth is the only Simcoe County community to crack the Top 25 Best Places to Live in Canada, for 2018. This is a list put together by MoneySense Magazine and it ranked New Tecumseth as the 24th best place to live in Canada.
It’s also one of the safest communities to live. For a town our size, we have one of the lowest crime rates in Canada. In terms of the crime severity index we are at 35, while the national average is 71 (lower is better). For violent crime we are at 32, while the national average is 75 (again, lower is better).
